Project Overview

This identity and ad campaign for Cranbrook on the Green: Artist-Designed Mini-Golf celebrates Cranbrook's legacy by bringing iconic sculptures and iconography from the Bloomfield Hills campus into the design.

The look is nostalgic and summery: bright, youthful colors, Esprit-like geometry, and 80s and 90s patterning. The collaged approach nods to Cranbrook designer April Greiman.

The Brief

  • Build a flexible identity system that promotes the exhibition across digital, print, and in-person

  • Give visitors from all walks of life an accessible way into contemporary art and modern design in a world-renowned setting

  • Celebrate the history and culture of the Cranbrook Educational Community

The Outcome

The identity earned three Indigo Design Awards in 2023: Gold in Branding for Entertainment, Silver in Integrated Graphic Design, and Bronze in Branding.

Project Collaborators

  • Lyla Catellier, Curator of Public Programs, Cranbrook Art Museum

  • Andrew Blauvelt, Director of Cranbrook Art Museum
